After sustaining an injury whilst serving in the Army, John’s attempt at self-medication led to a difficult history of drug abuse, which led him to become homeless. Through immense dedication to his recovery, he has now made the inspiring transition to becoming a peer mentor for a local recovery service.
His next goal is to pursue a full-time career in care and support by completing an NVQ level 2 or 3 in social care.
However, before he could do so, his laptop broke. Thankfully, at Church Homeless Charity, we were able to step in to provide a grant for a new one, enabling him to continue his learning.
