We provided a grant to a scheme that helps veterans experiencing homelessness to help fund their climb up Blencathra in the Lake District.
Their support worker told us:
“Although the walk may have been challenging in parts, the sun was shining, the views were amazing, a perfect day for anyone’s mental health. Mark walked ahead, where he shared his walk on TikTok, telling everyone how he couldn’t imagine where he was 5 weeks ago, being street homeless, to now walking up a mountain. Mark’s positivity is totally infectious, and although he can sometimes be a bit much, everyone is just so happy that he is in such a good place.”
