“The short-term benefits for Danni have been huge. I believe this grant has helped them to stay out of prison, as it has meant Danni hasn’t had to steal food (which is often what they would have to resort to before) and has helped them to travel legitimately with an Oyster, again, reducing Danni’s chances of being picked up by police for being on public transport without a valid ticket. Money for necessities has been a huge need for Danni since his release, so the CHC grant has and continues to make a huge difference to their quality of life and prospects in the community post-prison. Having recently come out of prison and facing homelessness, Danni was placed temporarily in one of our partnered homeless accommodation schemes, where their support worker was able to apply for one of our grants, so Danni was able to get the extra clothes and essentials that they so desperately needed.
