Small Charity Week (22-29 June 2026) is a chance to celebrate the thousands of charities working in communities across the UK.
Many operate quietly, without large fundraising teams, advertising budgets or national profiles. Yet every day they provide support that changes lives.
Church Homeless Charity is proud to be one of them.
As a small charity with a team of just five staff members, we know that our impact is only possible because of the generosity of our supporters. Before anything else, we want to say thank you.
Whether you have donated, fundraised, shared one of our posts, remembered us in your prayers or simply helped spread the word about our work, you have played a part in helping people move forward from homelessness.

Why Small Charity Week?
Small Charity Week shines a spotlight on organisations that are making a difference every day, often without widespread recognition.
It is a chance to celebrate the dedication of staff, trustees and volunteers, but it is also an opportunity to recognise the importance of continued support.
Demand for charitable services continues to grow across many sectors. At the same time, many small charities face increasing costs and growing pressure on their resources.
The week serves as an important reminder that communities depend on small charities, and small charities depend on people who are willing to stand alongside them.

Every act of support matters
We know that times are not easy.
Many households are facing rising costs and difficult decisions about where their money goes. That makes every donation we receive even more meaningful.
When someone chooses to support Church Homeless Charity, they are making a conscious decision to help a person they may never meet. They are choosing kindness, compassion and hope.
There is no such thing as a donation that is too small.
Individual gifts, regular donations, fundraising events and collections all help us continue our work. When combined, these acts of generosity allow us to reach thousands of people every year.
Behind every one of those grants is someone who needed support and a donor who made that support possible.

There are many ways to help
Supporting a small charity is not only about making a financial contribution.
For organisations like ours, raising awareness can be just as valuable.
You can help by sharing our work with friends and family, engaging with our social media posts, telling your church, workplace or community group about us, or encouraging others to learn more about the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness.
Small charities often grow because one supporter tells another person about a cause they care about.
That simple act can lead to new donations, new partnerships and ultimately more people receiving support.
Looking to the future
The need for our grants continues to grow.
Last year, we awarded more funding than ever before and reached more people than ever before. While we are proud of that achievement, it also reflects the increasing pressures facing many of the people supported by our partner organisations.
As demand grows, so does the importance of charities that can provide practical help at the right time.
Our small team remains committed to making every pound count and ensuring that donations are used where they can have the greatest impact.
This Small Charity Week, we are celebrating not only the work of small charities across the country, but also the people who make that work possible.
Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for believing that small grants can make a big impact. And thank you for helping people experiencing homelessness take positive steps towards a brighter future.
