Volunteers and Church Housing Trust staff provided an early Christmas dinner to residents at central London hostel King George’s on Wednesday.
The staff took time out of the office to cook rice, chicken, and vegetables for the 68 homeless men in the hostel, many of whom have high support needs. One said that it was a real treat as he couldn’t cook much more than beans on toast.
Support staff passed on that the residents said it was absolutely delicious and “better than normal”. Others said they were really thankful for the delicious food at a time of year that can be very lonely and isolated for them.
The residents will also enjoy a roast dinner and small gift each on Christmas day thanks to the support of our donors.
