The growing crisis of homelessness in England
The crisis of homelessness in England is worsening, with a shocking 27% rise in rough sleeping reported in the latest statistics. In fact, since 2010, the number of rough sleepers has increased by 120%. These alarming figures, highlighted in a recent Crisis article, should serve as a wake up call to everyone.
As a charity dedicated to supporting homelessness people, we are acutely aware of the concerning trends reported by Crisis. While the statistics are shocking, we recognise that the true extent of the problem is likely even greater. Moreover, many individuals who are struggling with housing insecurity may not be visible in official figures. They could be staying with friends or family, or they are simply unable to access the necessary support services.
Therefore, it is imperative that we continue to raise awareness, advocate for change and continue our work of supporting those most in need.
