Help women facing homelessness find hope this winter
Winter appeal
For many women, homelessness doesn’t begin with sleeping on a street.
It starts quietly – with domestic abuse, financial control, insecure tenancies, losing work, or the rising cost of keeping a family going.
Bit by bit, the foundations of a home fall away.
When stability turns into survival
We know that poverty and the housing crisis push people into homelessness. But we must not forget the devastating reality for thousands of families this winter who lost their homes because they chose survival.
1 in 4 of the women we supported last year were fleeing abuse.
The tragedy of fleeing a violent situation, only to face homelessness, is an urgent call for action.

In the last year, there was a 24% rise in women becoming homeless due to domestic abuse.
Women and children are slipping through the gaps of a system never designed around their needs.
Single mothers are particularly vulnerable to homelessness.
In England, one in every 38 single mothers is now without a home.
And single-parent families are four times more likely to lose their home. (Research by Shelter.)
Your donation could make a meaningful difference in helping us meet these families’ needs.

40% of homeless women say domestic abuse contributed to them losing their home.

How we help women in crisis
Ourtimely, tailored grants help parents secure essential items when there is nowhere left to turn. Unlike many charities, we receive detailed applications that allow us to understand each person’s unique story. This personal approach helps us see every individual we support as more than just a number.
We also ask for feedback from grant recipients, giving us real insight into the impact of our support on their lives. Within just a few days of applying, the grant is in their hands, empowering them to take their next steps with confidence and hope.

We would like to help more women rebuild their lives, but we need your help.
