We hope that things will get better.
A sentimental wish with angels and shepherds,
And a cute baby.
But there was pain and dirt,
And so much killing of the innocents.
And that was just the beginning.
What we hope for is not easy,
It is not an absence of pain or ambiguity.
Hope grows right in the middle of all the political,
social and economic turmoil.
This is the field of our spiritual battle.
This is incarnation.
God living with and in us.
This Christmas many people will sacrifice their time and resources to help homeless people. We thank God for them.
